The Roseau County Prevention Coalition

The Roseau County Prevention Coalition is a group of concerned citizens, local agencies, businesses and community groups working together to address issues relating to the abuse of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs in Roseau County.  The primary function of the Coalition is to share resources, ideas and information; to work together to help youth stay alcohol, tobacco and drug free and to bring about community awareness of these issues in order to promote prevention.

To address the issues of underage use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, the Roseau County Prevention Coalition is using several approaches. 

• Server training about laws and city ordinances regarding alcohol and tobacco sales to minors are offered free of charge to all businesses in Roseau County.

• Several programs have been developed and implemented to help area youth:

o       Mentoring Program

o       Teen Journey

o       Problem Solving

o       Truancy Mentoring

o       Open Gym

o       Project Northland

 

A MOST of us® social norms communication plan focusing on actual substance use versus perceived substance use by youth. The campaign is targeted to youth, parents and community members.

We also offer INTERACTIVE  POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS for students, parents, businesses and community members.  These presentations focus on correcting misperceptions regarding underage drinking in our county.  Call us to find out more, we will be  happy to customize a presentation to fit your needs.
